How does “near work” pricing work?
If you’ve taken a job on the Fort Worth side, the commute is part of the price. This page groups new Fort Worth apartments by employer, with free-flow drive time, the route, and any toll or managed-lane line added to the monthly cost. Then we recheck the drive at your actual start time, because 6 AM and 8 AM are different trips.
We publish an employer guide only when 5 or more board buildings sit within 20 minutes free-flow. Below that, there aren’t enough choices for a fair comparison, and we’d rather send you a custom list.
Which employers do you match buildings to?
The anchors are the biggest job centers on this side of DFW. Lockheed Martin lists 19,193 employees, American Airlines 10,772, and Cook Children’s 8,850, per the City of Fort Worth’s FY2025 ACFR. Alliance adds Celestica, with 1,715 jobs planned by 2029, plus MTU, Foxlink, and Wistron.
- Alliance: North Fort Worth, Alliance, and Saginaw buildings via I-35W and SH 170. See new apartments near Alliance.
- Lockheed Martin and NAS JRB: West and Southwest Fort Worth via I-30 and Loop 820. See new apartments near Lockheed Martin.
- The Medical District: Downtown and Near Southside buildings near Cook Children’s, JPS, and Texas Health Harris Methodist. See new apartments near the Medical District.
- Skyview: Northeast Tarrant buildings, often via SH 121 and SH 114. See new apartments near Skyview.
- GM Arlington Assembly: Arlington and Grand Prairie buildings via SH 360, I-20, and I-30. See new apartments near GM Arlington.
How do tolls change the ranking?
Tolls can change which building is cheapest. The Chisholm Trail Parkway runs 22 cents a mile with a TollTag, and ZipCash is about double. A daily CTP commute from the Cleburne end works out to $286.02 a month with a TollTag (NTTA rates, Jul 1, 2025). That’s more than the rent gap between many buildings.
TEXpress managed lanes on I-35W, SH 121, and SH 114 use dynamic pricing, and HOV 2+ drivers pay half price at peak. If your route uses them, we price your expected pattern. Our guide on toll costs on your commute shows the math.
What does the 24-month math include?
We compare buildings on what you’d pay over two years: cash to move in, year one after the special, required fees, tolls, parking, and year two at 0% and +3%. Tolls are a line item, not a footnote. That way a cheaper building farther out and a pricier building close in get compared on the same terms.
